Architect: Ellerbe Becket
Location: Royal Oak, Michigan
Cost: $ 4,000,000

Description:
Located in Royal Oak, Michigan, Beaumont Hospital is one of the largest and best hospitals in the state. The Critical Care Tower addition 208,000 s.f. and over 10,000 c.y. of concrete to the existing facility. This nine story high rise was built while keeping the existing facility in operation. Also, in order to keep disruption to a minimum, Spence Brothers installed a tower crane. By placing a tower crane on site, Spence Brothers gained the ability to reach the entire site with one crane (saving the owner money) while removing the hazard to pedestrians of having to deal with mobile cranes.
