the Project study

This new facility houses Library Learning Support Services (LLS), library and media support services, classrooms, computer, art, and graphic design labs, faculty and administrative offices, student study areas, conference rooms, and a Community Room for gatherings of up to 250 people.  The additional space, when coupled with their recently completed student services expansion, nearly doubles the classroom and support service space at their Mount Pleasant campus.

Sustainable elements include a wise use of resources such as daylighting and views, recyclable and low VOC materials, a green roof for storm water retention and urban heat island reduction, as well as other surface water runoff management applications.  This project was designed and constructed to be LEED Silver Certifiable.
