the Project study
Formerly known as the Best Western Four Seasons, recent property enhancements have earned the hotel its ‘Plus’ designation along with esteemed recognition from AAA with its upgrade to a Three Diamond Rating. This new rating marks the property as a multifaceted establishment with distinguished style that appeals to travelers with comprehensive needs.
The transformation of the hotel was recognized in Traverse City soon after construction during a National Conference of Best Western Operators as a “best-practice” for revitalizing older properties. The renovation project was managed by Spence Brothers, who also self-performed foundations for the lobby addition and carpentry.
The hotel added a state-of-the-art fitness room, guest laundry, an elevator, and a new heating and cooling system throughout the entire property. Additionally, all 50 guest rooms were totally remodeled. The exterior received the most noticeable makeover, transforming it from a “north woods lodge” look to a more contemporary design in-line with the Best Western brand.
