the Project study

The Dow Chemical Customer Innovation Center (CIC) will be home to 200 research and development personnel who explore future technologies at the intersections of silicone chemistry. Located on the company’s Research and Development campus, the facility complements the work of Dow’s more than 1,200 researchers and developers based in the Great Lakes Bay Region.

A covered walkway will connect the building to existing facilities on the campus and berms and a pond will enhance landscaping, storm water management, and security.

The research and development functions of the CIC include wet chemistry, rubber, adhesive, powder analysis, fluids testing, and thermal testing labs. A warehouse space stores testing and analytical materials. Several of the lab spaces feature glazed mezzanines above for observation. Training rooms and conference spaces are on the second floor, along with open offices and additional lab space.

The building features fiber cement panel rain screens, translucent fiberglass panels, and silicone glazed curtain wall systems.
