the Project study

Formerly a law office, this facility has been completely renovated to host the new tasting room of Soul Squeeze Cellars in Lake Leelanau, Michigan. This new location is an off-site tasting room for the licensed winery. In addition to enough area for roughly 40 patrons on the main level of the building, renovations to the facility also yielded storage area, a prep kitchen, a small office space, and additional restrooms in the walk-out basement level.

Sourcing fruit from both Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas, in addition to growing their own grapes, the Owners, Luke and Faye Pickelman, have been distributing their own wines and hard ciders throughout Michigan since 2017. The couple left Lansing for the area in 2011, when they bought a farm to pursue winemaking. They briefly produced Soul Squeeze ciders under the Bonobo Winery label last fall before deciding to branch out on their own.
