the Project study

Micah 6 Community is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Pontiac, Michigan, that is endeavoring to develop an existing historical Elementary School building into a Community Center. Spence Brothers is currently assisting them through the provision of Preconstruction Estimating Services.

Renovation plans include the development of a food pantry and storage, community kitchen, event and meeting areas, youth services, indoor grow space, community gardens with hoop houses, and an outdoor athletic field.

The Elementary School, which rests on a 6-acre site, is a historic facility built in 1921. Renovations will take place with respect toward preserving the historical integrity of the structure.

This Community Center will be dedicated to providing spaces for a food hub, physical fitness, an indoor transportation hub, arts and culture, as well as space for launching small businesses through co-work facilities that support local entrepreneurs and innovators.
