Bay County Animal Services & Adoption Center Project Kicks Off with Community Support
We’re excited to announce that on September 26, 2024, Spence Brothers will proudly join Bay County officials and our partners to break ground on the new Bay County Animal Services & Adoption Center!

Led by Bay County Executive Jim Barcia, the county has recognized the growing need for an improved facility to care for animals in our community. As a no-kill shelter, Bay County takes pride in finding loving homes for 94% of the cats and dogs that come through their doors. With more animals in their care than ever before, the new facility will offer expanded space, modern features, and higher standards to ensure the health and well-being of the animals.
Spence Brothers has been collaborating closely with Jim Barcia, Bay County, William A. Kibbe & Associates, and GBA to design a functional and efficient center that will enhance animal care for years to come. This project is a testament to the overwhelming support of Bay County voters who made this vision possible.
Join us for the ceremonial groundbreaking at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 26, at 800 Livingston Street in the dog park. We invite the community to learn more about this state-of-the-art facility and the positive impact it will have on both animals and the people of Bay County.
